Festive Lights Image Competition - Terms and Conditions

  1. How to Participate 
  2. The competition will run from 00:00 on 2 December (the "Opening Date") to 17 December 2025 (the "Closing Date"). 
  3. All competition entries must be received by us by no later than 23:59 on the Closing Date. All competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified. 
  4. In order to enter this free competition, simply take a photo of yourself with your Christmas lights, and send it to @niceicofficial via Facebook Messenger, Instagram instant messenger or tag us @niceicofficial in a post on either platform. 
  5.        Eligibility 
  6. You must be aged 18 or over in order to enter the competition. 
  7. In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the prize. We may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition. 
  8. We will not accept competition entries that are automatically generated by computer or created by artificial intelligence (including but not limited to chatbots such as ChatGPT or similar software applications). 
  9. You may only submit one entry to this competition. If you submit more than one entry, those additional entries will be void and will not be entered into the competition. 
  10. We reserve all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize competition. 
  11. By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions. 
  12. Entries that do not comply with these terms and conditions will be void and will not be entered into the competition. 
  13. Selection of the Winner 
  14. Only one winner of the competition will be selected. 
  15. The competition entries will be judged by one judge based on what they consider to be the best display of festive lights. The decision of the judge (acting at their discretion) will be final.  
  16. We will send the full name of the judge to anyone who emails us at marketing@niceic.com within 14 days of the Closing Date of the competition requesting details of the judge. 
  17. The Prize 
  18. The winner of the competition will receive a £100 Amazon gift card, which can be spent however they wish, subject to any terms applicable on how and where to use the gift card. 
  19. The prize is non-transferable, and no alternative prize will be offered. 
  20. Notification of the Results and Receipt of the Prize 
  21. We will notify the winner by direct messaging them on the social media account they used to submit their entry, from the NICEIC official account (@niceicofficial) as soon as practicable after the Closing Date.  
  22. If a selected winner does not respond to the notification within 14 days, the prize will be forfeited and we will select an alternative winner from the remaining eligible entries in accordance with the process described above (and that winner will also have 14 days to respond to their notification). 
  23. The winner will be emailed their prize. We will make arrangements for this upon notification of the results.  
  24. Publicity and Personal Information 
  25. Please note that your personal information will be used to process your entry, to contact you about your entry, and for the purposes outlined in paragraphs 6.2 and 6.3 below. We rely on our legitimate interests as the legal basis for using your personal information in connection with the administration and promotion of the competition. This includes ensuring the integrity and fairness of the draw, communicating with participants, and generating interest and engagement. Please see our privacy policy for more details regarding how we will use your personal information. 
  26. By entering the competition, you understand that we may share your photo on our website and social media channels. We may include your first name and general location (e.g. “Ella from Bristol”) when we share that photo. You may be asked to participate in publicity relating to this promotion if you are selected as a winner. 
  27. The surname and county of the winner can be obtained by sending an e-mail to marketing@niceic.com after 17 December 2025. 
  28. If you do not want your surname and county to be revealed as referred to above, please email marketing@niceic.com before the closing date of the promotion. 
  29. General 
  30. This promotion is operated by Certsure LLP of Warwick House, Houghton Hall Park, Houghton Regis, Dunstable, LU5 5ZX. 
  31. By submitting your entry to the competition, you grant us a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide licence to use the photo that you have submitted on our website and on our social media channels for the purposes of communicating the winner of the competition to other participants. 
  32. While nothing in these terms and conditions will limit or exclude our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraud, we will not be legally responsible to entrants or winners for any losses that were not foreseeable to us or to the entrant at the time of entry to the promotion, or which are caused by a third party. 
  33. We reserve the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so. 
  34. The laws of England and Wales apply to these terms and conditions, although if you are resident elsewhere you will retain the benefit of any mandatory protections given to you by the laws of that country. 
  35. Any disputes will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. This means that you can choose whether to bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales or in the courts of another part of the UK in which you live.
