About this course

This one-day bridging course updates practising electricians on the latest changes introduced in BS 7671:2018+A4:2026. It covers new requirements relating to ICT earthing, stationary battery installations, Power over Ethernet distribution, and energy efficiency, ensuring you are familiar with the amendments before sitting the updated City & Guilds 2382 assessment. 

Amendment 4 brings several significant updates to BS 7671, including new sections covering ICT systems, battery storage, and PoE distribution, as well as revisions affecting medical locations and periodic inspection and testing.

Who is this course for

This course is suitable for practising electricians who have previously completed 18th Edition training and now need to update their knowledge to Amendment 4.

What are the entry requirements?

You must hold prior qualification related to BS 7671:2008 (17th Edition) or a later version. Proof of achievement should be emailed to traininginfo@niceic.com after submitting your order.

What will you learn?

You will cover the key changes introduced since Amendment 2 and Amendment 3, including:

  • Functional earthing requirements for ICT systems (Section 545)
  • Stationary secondary battery installations (Chapter 57)

  • Mandatory unit: Understand the requirements of electrical installations BS 7671 (2018+A4:2026)

What do you need to have with you?

Please have the following items available for the course and examination:

  • BS 7671:2018+A4:2026 (latest edition)
  • A scientific calculator with a square root function
  • Photographic ID (passport or driving licence)

Not having these items may prevent you from sitting the exam.
