The aim of NICEIC Certification’s 2-Part Non-Domestic Gas Safety On Site Guide is to provide technical and industry guidance to practicing gas engineers going about their daily activities and those individuals progressing through industry training and assessment (initial & reassessment).

The Guide is closely aligned to the Matters of Gas Safety (MoGS) that govern the competence criteria of the Nationally Accredit Certification Scheme for Gas Fitting Operatives (ACS), managed by the Standard Setting Body (SSB) of IGEM.

Part 1 of the Guide deals with: properties & characteristics of gas, legislation, Gas Industry Unsafe Situations Procedure, labels & notices, emergency actions & procedures, pipework, tightness testing & purging small installation not exceeding 0.035 m3 in volume (note Part 2 deals with installations exceeding 0.035 m3), pressure regulation, burner control, etc.

Part 2 of the Guide is specific to each group of appliances found in a non-domestic setting: wet & dry heating, laundry, commercial catering, gas booster/compressors/pre-mix machines and commissioning and servicing gas fired plant.

The Guide is also available as a single digital publication via VitalSource’s Book Shelf – see ‘Digital Publications – Digital Gas’ for further information.
