About this course

On this course you will gain an understanding of how to safely isolate a single-phase electrical supply to allow for the safe removal and replacement of existing items of basic electrical equipment and accessories on a 'like for like' basis.

It does not cover works requiring access to consumer units, distribution boards or the installation of new circuits.

Who is this course for

This course is designed for individuals working in allied trades or those engaged in maintenance activities who want to learn how to perform basic electrical tasks safely.

It is important that those undertaking this course are aware of its limited and defined scope and do not work beyond their level of training, skill, experience, and knowledge. Employers are advised to ensure that, as appropriate, attendees are allowed to further develop their skills in the workplace under the supervision of someone suitably qualified to make judgments on performance against industry standards.

What are the entry requirements?

If you'd like to attend this electrical training course, you'll need to have an existing understanding of electrical principles, and a working knowledge of the wiring regulations would be ideal.

Candidates are assessed using a combination of knowledge assessment methods and observation of practical application.
