There are no formal entry requirements for undertaking this qualification. However, it is expected that you will have a fundamental understanding of electrical installation principles.

How is this course assessed?

This City & Guilds qualification assessment includes an online multiple-choice test.

What do you need to have with you?

To get the best out of this training you should have access to each of the following for the duration of the course.

A copy of BS 7671:2018+A2:2022 - Requirements for Electrical Installations.
A copy of Amendment 3:2024 (download for free from the NICEIC website).Â
A copy of the Corrigendum (May 2023) to BS 7671:2018+A2:2022 (download for free from the IET website).Â
A scientific calculator with square root function.Â

Not having the above items for the duration of the training will compromise the quality of the learning and significantly reduce the chance of success in the open book assessment.

You'll need photo ID on the day of the examination; please note failure to provide this will result in you not being able to sit the exam.
